Dr. Ai earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2018, graduating with higher honors and ranking in the top three of his class. He worked as a dentist in Tehran before continuing his training in the United States.
He completed a periodontics preceptorship at the University of Texas in Houston in 2022, followed by a periodontics internship at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He then completed the orthodontic certificate program at the Georgia School of Orthodontics in Atlanta, where he served as class president throughout the program.
In August 2026, Dr. Ai became a board-certified orthodontist through the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Ai presented a resident case display at the 2025 American Association of Orthodontists meeting, and also presented “Innovations in Pediatric Orthodontics: The Role of AI” there.
Before orthodontics, Dr. Ai worked in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research. He has co-authored 17 published research papers, holds two patents, and won the Best Presentation award at the 1st International Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Congress in 2018.
Teaching and service have always been part of his work. As a student, Dr. Ai served as a teaching assistant in oral and maxillofacial surgery and was nominated for a teaching honor for his hands-on implant dentistry course. He also led a dental team that treated patients in underserved communities and organized public awareness campaigns on oral cancer, diabetes and healthy eating.
